Best in Show at Baltimore FF Show

Posted on: May 17th, 2013 by Geoffrey Warner No Comments

Earlier this week, KL Communications and Rockler Woodworking announced that Geoffrey Warner Studio is a 5th Annual Mid-Atlantic Fine Furnishings Show – Best in Show award recipient.

A panel of Baltimore area industry professionals reviewed the show’s talented exhibitors, their work, and booth layouts to select the finalists in nine categories. Warner received the prestigious Marc Harrison Award for Marketing Excellence. The judges were particularly impressed by Warner’s advertisements. “The Owl Collection ads are whimsical and capture the spirit of the product.”

When interviewed, Geoff Warner replied “We are thrilled with this honor. I have a passion for humor and enjoyed the process of designing the original Owl Stool as well as working with my team to create the messaging that all of our Owl Furniture is both fun and comfortable.”

Geoffrey Warner Studio is located in Stonington, Maine.  Their owlfurniture.com website also illustrates their life-is-fun attitude– even the names of their base colors are whimsical: Big Smile Red, Night Owl Black and Lobstah Orange are a few examples!

Wentworth Intern Assists with New Designs

Posted on: May 8th, 2013 by Geoffrey Warner 2 Comments

Christina Fenton, our intern from Wentworth Institute of Technology, aided us with several projects during her 3 month co-op.  Christina excelled in graphic design and a willingness to jump into any project! She provided assistance with projects ranging from a new trade show banner to tackling the conceptual drawings for two of Geoff’s new designs.  The two new accessories for our Rolling Owl Stools are the Wing and the Back.  The Owl Wing will provide an adjustable work surface for tablets or laptops.  The Owl Back will also be adjustable to ensure that the “sit bones” are positioned to maximize the ergonomic comfort of the Owl stool. Christina’s outstanding conceptual drawings are below.

We would like to thank Wentworth Institute of Technology for offering the Co-op Program.  It was a tremendously positive experience.  Christina’s skills, enthusiasm, and initiative accelerated the progress on all of her projects.  In addition to her design work, Christina also began sourcing parts and manufacturers for the the Rolling Owl accessories.

The 3 months flew by– it was difficult to see Christina leave our nest!  We thank Christina for her contributions and wish her the best in her future pursuits. We know that she will be a success where ever she lands after graduation.  To see more of Christina’s industrial designs visit: www.christinafenton.com.

Stay tuned for more information about the Wing and Back!
