Custom Table Revealed

Custom Walnut Bookmatch Dining Room Table by Geoffrey Warner Studio
During this past December, Geoff feverishly worked on a new table design in order to deliver a client’s Christmas Table in time for the holiday dinner!

Constructing the table base from resilient ash wood, Geoff created a new design for the table “knees.”  Geoff said, ” no matter how many projects I complete, the excitement of taking a drawing and making it come to life is a thrill!”

Our Connecticut clients chose walnut bookmatched boards for the table top.  Geoff’s crew applied a natural tung oil to bring out the beautiful grain and provide protection to the live edge wood. This video shows the transformation:

The image below shows Geoff assembling the live edge Christmas table as the new owners stand by to help with the flip and positioning.  The table measures 92″ x 48″ x 30″.

As we move into February, now is the best season to consider a custom dining room, sofa or coffee table.  Geoff will work closely with you to capture your ideas into a one-a-kind design.

Happy New Year from Stonington, Maine!

Posted on: December 16th, 2013 by Geoffrey Warner No Comments

Mission: Design and Create a Custom Table.

Location: Geoffrey Warner Studio, Stonington, Maine

Geoff is in the process of building a special table. The first clue to the design is the shaping of the table knees.  This brief video shows Geoff in action:

One Door Opens…

We are always grateful when a publication showcases our work–it opens a door to a new set of viewers.  Thank you to Design New England who featured our new Rolling Owl Stools in their May/June issue.  Check out the “Local Wares” section and the other great features of this digital magazine.

Speaking of Doors — This week Geoff is heading to NYC to deliver the Live Edge Doors featured in an earlier blog.  Everyone is amazed by their beauty.  When we asked Geoff about the doors, he reflected: “These amazing live edge boards are as fine as any art or furniture I have seen. Nature’s beauty with a little help from our shop, gave a second life to what I’m sure were magnificent trees.  I wish I knew their history.”
