In 2003 I built a new studio, which is situated just on the outskirts of the beautiful fishing village of Stonington, Maine. This building was inspired by the architecture of an historic grist mill which abutted my first shop in Rhode Island. This new building has a studio/showroom on the second floor for displaying one of a kind and OWL® furniture pieces and Maine inspired paintings and drawings. On the first floor is a well equipped shop which has ample room for me and one or two assistants. There is a cheerful passive solar work bench area where hand joinery takes place. Machines are used whenever practical to save time, but never if a compromise in integrity would result. Over the years I have hired skilled cabinet makers and had apprentices work for me. I enjoy passing my skills and philosophy on to these eager new woodworkers entering into the trade.
