Tools of the Trade

Geoff is drawing up plans for the maple conference table we are building- notice the compass, rulers, curves, and sharp pencils. The incredible maple board for the top was delivered here a couple weeks ago.  We have been skirting around it’s 15′ by 3′ presence ever since. In the background you can see the laminations we glued up today. That arc is one of four that will be part of the base for the table. Much of shop work is maintaining the balance between the different jobs that integrate together into the final creation; planing and drafting, sanding and contemplating, gluing and oiling- the end product…a conference table.
