Do you love music and want to learn more? This July, the Acadia School of Traditional Music & Arts will hold two sessions at the College of Atlantic (COA) in Bar Harbor, Maine. Geoffrey Warner Studio supports this event and encourages musicians of all levels to sign-up and learn from an outstanding list of instructors. Don’t forget your Owl Stool— sit and play for hours in comfort!
“The Acadia Trad School” is dedicated to promoting education and appreciation of traditional music, dance, art, instrument crafts and associated technologies. The school is for people who love traditional music and want to advance their knowledge and skills in music or dance. Students sign up for one week of intensive (but fun loaded!) classes held at COA.
2013 Class schedule:
Irish/Old-Time week, July 1 – 5 **
Acadian/Québécois, July 15-19
**Look For Geoff’s booth during the Irish/Old Time Week. Special musician stool at 20″ height with slightly higher foot rest will be available–see below.
The ergonomic comfort of the Owl Stool allows musicians to play for hours without fidgeting and fatigue. The secret is in the Eyes! The holes relieve pressure on your ischial (sit) bones. Our Owl Stools are available in custom heights, as well as our standard Owl Stool heights of 18″ and 24.” Special Summer Sale: 20% off all finished Owl Stools. The 18″ 3 legged stool is $288,’ the 20″& 24″ is on sale for $344. You may choose a handcrafted Cherry or Walnut seat.
The Acadia TRAD sessions will also offer evening events open to the public. In addition to the Contradance July 2nd at 7:30pm, come out and listen to some awesome musicians, here’s a select list of music nights:
